Table Tennis Tables

So if you have 40mm balls, and OverSize rackets, you should get an oversized table........Just kidding, the size of the table hasn't changed! However, to really appreciate the way a ball bounces, there is a difference between most your average basement table and a tournament grade table!

Here's some guidelines when looking for a table:

The thicker the top......the better the bounce. It's a livelier, true bounce, with greater consistency. If you can't tell the difference between a bounce on a 1" top vs a 3/4" top (and money is no object), get a 1" top. Someday in the future you'll thank yourself!
- If you have to move the table, get a fold up or rollaway table with casters.
- If you have the luxury of not having to move the table, a basic four-post leg design has less moving parts, and greater stability.
- Buy the most expensive table you can afford. You get a thicker top, livelier bounce, better surface finish, more stable framework for support.
-Avoid 5/8" and 1/2" tops. The ball just doesn't bounce the same!
